Governors are responsible for overseeing the organization and management of the school. The law requires that every school has a Governing Board and lays down what they are to do and the rules by which they must work. On each Governing Board there are representatives of the parents and guardians of the pupils at the school, staff at the school including the Headteacher, people appointed by the local authority and other people who represent the local community or businesses.
There are two committees which meet termly. They are: Finance, HR & Premises and Safeguarding, Teaching, Learning & Therapy. The Full Governing Board, consisting of all the Governors, meets termly.
The Governors are involved in ensuring the delivery of the curriculum, agreeing the aims and policies of the school, interviewing and appointing staff, setting the annual budget plan, monitoring spending and keeping parents informed of the progress of the school.
